
Katie Compton is an HR Project Officer at the University of Birmingham, specialising in staff benefits and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Passionate about fostering employee engagement, she works to source and promote an array of benefits, develop well-being initiatives, and organise educational events focused on financial savings and wellness for colleagues.
Katie's contributions have been instrumental in cultivating a motivated and engaged community around staff benefits. She spearheaded the Annual Staff Benefits Fair, a successful initiative that has now become a highly anticipated yearly event. Her proactive approach ensures that new and exciting benefit offerings continue to enhance the employee experience at the university. Committed to helping colleagues maximise their employment experience, Katie strives to make university benefits accessible and fully utilised.
Before transitioning to higher education, Katie spent over 15 years as a civilian with West Midlands Police, excelling in roles related to road traffic matters.
Outside of her professional life, Katie’s love for music keeps her seeking out the best tribute events, making time to enjoy live performances.
